Webinar: San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary Lidar Data Release Webinar

The San Francisco Estuary Wetlands Regional Monitoring Program (WRMP) in collaboration with the California Department of Water Resources, the Delta Stewardship Council, and other partners have completed the first-ever estuary-wide lidar survey of the San Francisco Bay-Delta! This lidar dataset and related deliverables will be free and publicly accessible.

This collection provides high-resolution elevation data across 1.25 million acres of Baylands, offering an unprecedented three-dimensional view of the landscape, landforms, and habitat conditions. The level of detail captured across the estuary makes this a shared foundation for researchers, engineers, and land managers working to mitigate flood risk, improve habitat restoration, monitor subsidence, and more.

Join us for a free webinar on Wednesday, August 5th from 12:00 – 1:30 pm to learn more about the lidar, how to access and download the dataset, and how it can be used for wetland restoration, shoreline planning, and research. The first half of the webinar is geared toward managers, regulators, and other interested parties. The second half is for technical users looking to access and work with the data directly. We intend to record this webinar and make it available on the WRMP webinars page for later viewing, but the live webinar is the quickest way to access this information and there will be opportunities for Q&A during the live webinar.
