WRMP
External Data & Tools
In addition to developing products and tools internally, the WRMP also integrates the use of valuable tools and products from external partners and collaborators. Several of these (not an exhaustive list) are included below.
- The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) has several tool/map products that can help inform shoreline and restoration planning and evaluation, including:
- Regional Shoreline Adaptation Plan Atlas (RSAP) – allows users to see how sea-level rise might affect particular communities.
- Shoreline Adaptation Project Map (SAPMap) – designed to spatially track adaptation projects, communicate regional progress on shoreline resilience goals, and support community-based partners in leading adaptation planning, construction, and monitoring.
- Coastal Storm Modeling System (CoSMoS) is a USGS modeling tool that can be used to model coastal storm components such as tides, waves, and storm surges under various storm and sea level rise scenarios. CoSMoS information can also be accessed, viewed, and downloaded through the California-focused Our Coast, Our Future (OCOF) flood mapper.
- The Baylands Resilience Framework provides quantitative data to help planners and managers identify where adaptation and restoration projects can increase baylands resilience to sea level rise.
- Interactive web map – explore the Baylands Resilience Metrics online.
- Data download – download Baylands Resilience Metrics GIS data.
- There are several entities focused on monitoring and collecting data in the Delta, including the Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) (a coalition of agencies that collect and manage mult-disciplinary studies), California Department of Water Resources (DWR), and USGS. Data from these programs are available through several platforms including:
- Bay Delta Live, the Environmental Data Initiative (EDI), and the California Data Exchange Center.
- In addition, the IEP provides IEP data including specific IEP survey data to researchers, managers, and the public.
- The USGS also maintains a USGS data portal that includes data and publications for research conducted in both the Delta and the Bay.
