WRMP
Compiled Regional Data
The WRMP collates data from multiple sources to provide consolidated regional wetland monitoring data, both as summarized visualizations as well as raw data.
In the map below, data collection locations are displayed for sediment accretion/subsidence data (measured at Surface Elevation Tables and Marker Horizons) and water level data. The interactive map allows you to locate your area of interest to get additional information. Data layers can be turned on/off by clicking the squares in the Layers box in the upper right corner of the map. Click on each point to see more information and download the data.
Surface Elevation Tables - Marker Horizons
Tidal wetland elevations keep pace with changes in sea level by accreting sediment and organic matter. Surface elevation tables (SETs) and marker horizons (MHs) are used in tandem to measure this elevation change and understand how tidal wetlands are faring. SET points on the map represent the centerpoint of several data collection stations per site. Click on a point to learn about stations at each site, who is managing them, and view three key summary figures relating to how elevation change and accretion rates relate to local sea level rise rates. Learn more about the importance of monitoring sediment deposition and wetland elevation changes.
Water Levels
The data available on the map represent water level stations collated by the WRMP. Active and retired stations, those that are no longer collecting data, are both represented. Active stations are represented by open squares and retired stations are represented by hatched squares. The data presented at each point include the agency/group responsible, years active, relevant metadata, and data download location. Learn more about the importance of monitoring water levels.
